• These summer sandals are handmade by the Koalvina family. They are a family living with vitiligo, and also a group of people who take life seriously and create beauty with their own hands. Since they do not have stable channels to promote their work, we have chosen to help sell their sandals in our store, hoping that more people can see this simple and sincere handmade craft.

Are they true to size?

Yes — we cut our slides to standard US women's sizing, so order your usual.

A small honesty: the straps are firm out of the box, the way good cork-bedded sandals always are. If you're between sizes, or if your feet run a little wide, size up. We'd rather you slip into a pair that fits like it was made for you than one that pinches by hour three.

How comfortable are they? Will I need to break them in?

Most women find them wearable from day one — but the cork footbed actually gets better the more you wear them. After about 5–7 wears, the cork softens into the contours of your feet, the way a good leather wallet softens to your pocket.

The platform is 1.5 inches — enough lift to feel pulled together, not so much your calves complain by hour four.

Will the beads fall off?

Each bead is hand-secured with industrial-grade adhesive and reinforced along the high-stress areas (around the buckles, along the toe strap). With normal wear and gentle care, your pair will hold its beadwork beautifully for seasons to come.

If a bead ever does come loose — email us and we'll send you a small tube of bead glue, free of charge. 

What should I wear them with?

Truthfully? Almost anything you'd reach for in summer.

We've seen our slides paired with cut-off denim on lazy weekend mornings, with flowy linen sundresses on coffee runs, and with a slip dress and gold hoops for dinner at sundown. They lean casual, but the beadwork pulls them a notch dressier than you'd expect — so don't be afraid to wear them somewhere a little fancier than the grocery store.

Ma's rule — if the rest of your outfit is quiet, let the sandals do the talking. If your outfit is loud, let the sandals play along.
